By Tara Bitzan, Executive Director, Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce These are crazy times! The last few years created a work/life tension that can’t be denied. Video meetings politicized hyper-awareness, tech addiction, content overload and social unrest have eroded relationships. People are more agitated than ever. We’re wrestling with big issues. We’re less connected to one another. It’s a perfect storm of strained relationships, debilitating anxiety and forgetting what it feels like to… be human!
Nationally-known speaker, social media personality and author Carlos Whittaker will visit Alexandria on Wednesday, April 26 to share how to keep disagreements from defining us, how to say no to becoming rage-filled humans, how to shift from ‘me’ to ‘we’ to ‘everybody’, how to become builders instead of demolitionists and ultimately, how to be the best versions of ourselves. Whittaker is a speaker, storyteller, social media personality and author of Moment Maker, Kill the Spider, Enter Wild and How to Human. He is a People’s Choice Award winner and host of the Human Hope podcast. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Heather, and their three children. Thanks to generous sponsorships by Alomere Health and Knute Nelson and support from a Blandin Foundation Rural Leadership Boost Grant, the event is free to everyone in the community. The event will be held at the Alexandria Area High School Performing Arts Center. Parking opens at 3:15 pm (park in the south lot); the presentation begins at 3:45 pm. A book signing will be held following the presentation. For more information visit alexandriamn.org or call 320-763-3161. Comments are closed.
