PRIDE OF THE LAKES
Pride of the Lakes is a community-wide campaign that aims to educate people about the impact of keeping dollars local. This concept was started by a group of community collaborators in 2018 and was then adopted by students from the Marketing class at Alexandria Area High School. The students created a formal marketing campaign including social media, print advertising, radio advertising and a movie theater video, and conducted several community presentations. Students from the Web Page Design class at Alexandria Area High School launched a website where businesses and individuals can learn more about this campaign and take the pledge to do business local.
Financial support for this project has been provided by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Downtown Merchants Association, Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission, Explore Alexandria Tourism, City of Alexandria, Douglas County, and the many local businesses listed at PrideoftheLakes.com.
