By Lauren Johnson, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Have an event coming up but need new ways to market it? Take advantage of the Chamber’s weekly Events at a Glance email blast.
Every Thursday at 10 am, the Alexandria Chamber sends the Events at a Glance email blast that consists of 10 days of upcoming Chamber and Chamber member events. There are several ways to ensure your event gets listed in the weekly Events at a Glance email blast. The first and most popular way is through the Douglas County Community Calendar. All Chamber member events are automatically pulled from this calendar to be added to the Events at a Glance. This calendar is not only an easy way to ensure your event is added to the Events at a Glance but is also a great tool to reach an even larger audience. All events that are pulled from the Douglas County Community Calendar to be added to the Events at a Glance will link back to the calendar listing for more information. Visit www.alexmncalendar.com to submit your event to the Douglas County Community Calendar. If you’re a Chamber Member hosting an event outside of the Douglas County limits, reach out to us at the Chamber with your event information and we will be happy to include it in our Events at a Glance. Be sure to include somewhere we can link it to such as a Facebook event page or a website where they can find more information. Or if you prefer, we can link it to an email address or even a PDF flyer. A couple other ways to get your information added to the Events at a Glance includes, sending a Chamber member email blast – we will add any qualifying events from previous chamber member email blasts. You can also drop off a flyer for our bulletin board located at our Chamber office and we will be sure to include that information as well. All submissions for the Events at a Glance email blast must be received by 3 pm on the Tuesday prior to that Thursday’s email blast. The Events at a Glance is a quick and easy way to market your event without spending a dime! For more information on how to submit your event for the weekly Events at a Glance email blast, reach out to Lauren at [email protected] or call 320-763-3161. It’s a great way to stay “in the know” about events happening in and around our community. Garfield Marine & Storage is located in Garfield, MN and is owned by Cathy Isaacson and her husband. It has 8 luxury pontoons and 1 fishing boat available for rent seating anywhere from 7 to 15 people depending on the boat. It also offers paddle boards & kayak rentals as well as boat storage and winterization; and has a full staff that is experienced in the business.
By Jess Ptacek, Program & Events Coordinator, Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce Wake Up Alexandria is an informative one-hour social networking event held the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. Each event is sponsored by a different Chamber member and takes place either at their location or virtually via Zoom.
So why attend these events? Networking opportunities: You will have the chance to meet a large group of people in a short amount of time. Additionally, if you work for a Chamber member business, you have the opportunity to make a 45-second announcement. You can announce an upcoming event, a job opening, a fundraiser, or simply tell everyone what your business does. Community engagement: As an attendee, you will be there to engage and learn about all of the wonderful things happening in our community. Many of the businesses bring flyers or business cards to place on the promotions table and you are able to take those items back to your business to share with others or put on your calendar. Learn about a business: At every event, you get a chance to learn about a business in our area. This could be a potential future client, business partner, or maybe vendor. The sponsoring business receives 10 minutes to share anything they wish with the attendees. They may introduce their staff, share a video or slideshow, or just tell you what their business does. Learn about a non-profit: When a business decides to host, they select a non-profit Chamber member to be the Non-Profit of the Day at their event. A representative from that organization is given an opportunity to attend the event to share information about their organization. The Pot of Gold: This drawing is the highly anticipated ending to our Wake Up Alexandria events. All Chamber members are placed in the drawing. The Chamber president draws one business name and if that business has a representative present at the time of the drawing, that business wins the Pot of Gold. The Pot of Gold is comprised of business items, discounted services, or gift certificates. Attending Wake Up means you give your business the chance to win the Pot of Gold! As you can see, there are many reasons to attend Wake Up Alexandria. Whether you attend for one or all of them, we know you will learn something new! Visit the Wake Up Alexandria page on our website to view a list of upcoming Wake Up dates. https://www.alexandriamn.org/wakeupalexandria.html |
