Restaurants, Food and Beverages

Alexandria Lakes Area seems more like a major metro complex with its abundance of fine restaurants and clubs plus a huge variety of shopping opportunities ranging from small specialty shops to big-box stores. Many of the area’s eating establishments are situated on lakes and at marinas for those arriving by water transportation.

Downtown Alexandria is a bustling collection of shops, restaurants, offices, banks, theatre and many opportunities for just strolling and taking in all the historic features. Downtown is also situated on two lakes, several parks, and is on the Central Lakes Trail for walking, jogging, roller skating, or bicycling.

The modern shopping malls are near to downtown in the “first ring” of shopping and other shopping areas and strip malls are springing up near those. Growth and expansion goes in all directions around Alexandria making it stronger as a regional hub for shopping, dining and entertainment.
