Active membership assures the success of the ALACC and depends on a competent and creative Board of Directors supported by a diligent and dedicated staff.

Members of the Board of Directors are elected yearly with terms of service rotating so the board always contains veterans as well as newcomers. Officers are elected by the board and committee chairs are appointed by the board.

Each year the new president chooses an area of particular interest and sets a theme to that end—always keeping in mind the Chamber mission and the overall Alexandria theme of “Easy to get to, hard to leave.” This motto comprises part of the Chamber logo and echoes the message from the entire Alexandria area.

The Board of Directors works to achieve the highest possible level of prosperity and with the support of a skilled and devoted office staff, boasts one of the strongest and most successful Chambers of Commerce in the state of Minnesota.

Thank you for visiting the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce via the internet. I am proud of the work of our members and staff to help create notable success and prosperity for the area.

Alexandria remains a strong regional hub for manufacturing, retail, health care, tourism and agriculture. That is due in large part to the nearly 700 Chamber members who continue to work diligently so the organization—and Alexandria—can achieve its ambitious goals and objectives.

Take a few moments to discover all the opportunities Alexandria and the Chamber have to offer to members, residents of the community, business prospects, and visitors.

Message from the Board President—Yvonne Kinney-Hockert (2007)

Throughout 2007 we will be celebrating the Chamber’s 100th Anniversary! The board of directors and chamber staff will be focused on “Setting a Direction” to continue the rich history started by many businesses a century ago.  Our chamber continues to strive to be the best representative for our members and for the business community.

Our leaders and businesses have collaborated over the last century to create what we now enjoy as the “ultimate destination to live, work, play and prosper.” Now, we are charged with “Setting a Direction” that will take us into the next hundred years of change, growth and abounding opportunities in this region. 

I invite you to utilize your membership and get involved in the chamber as a part of “Setting Your Direction” for your business.  Please review the opportunities to give back to your community via one of our many committees and/or events.  In the spirit of giving first and then receiving…we hope you take the opportunity to be an active part in continuing to build our community and developing lasting relationships and yes, Setting a Direction in 2007!
